We started the season off by constructing a closet organization system in our spare bedroom(later to be Connor's new room)
This was a chance for the a lot of the family to get involved

We might want to change all of our closets like this in the future
but for right now we will enjoy this one!
During Connor's spring break we decided to take a few days plus the weekend to spend in Oklahoma City to go serve in the temple, and tour some of the city that we have not done yet.
We took the kids to the city's science museum, and boy did they love it, and as parents, we had a great time too!

Cub Scout Pinewood Derby!
Connor decided what he wanted the car to look like, and he started to make it.

During the middle of April we took another weekend getaway to travel north to Kansas, City MO, to go to the open house of the new Kansas, City, LDS temple. We were excited to do this since this would be a chance for our boys to see the inside of a temple, and to walk through the main rooms and see what the temple looks like inside. Once it gets dedicated to the Lord, only those who are in good standing and have recommends can enter and serve in this holy house. This is only 3 in a half hours away from us, pretty much the same traveling distance away as the Oklahoma City LDS temple (the one we go to now) so it really was not that much of a trip. Our tour time was late afternoon, so we decided to check out the main city first and to see what it had to offer us. We first went to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints main visitor center in Independence, MO. Where sister missionaries of our church gave tours and spoke of the early saints and what they were going through during the early years of the restoration of the gospel (1830's)

We then decided to go down town to check out the city's main shopping center and get some lunch

We finally made it to the temple, and what a site to behold. It is a very beautiful structure in deed! And the inside is even more glorious!
We met up with one of Edie's college roomates that we have not seen for more then a decade and did the tour with them and stayed the rest of the day and next day with them.
This was a great trip and one that we will remember! We are so glad and feel so blessed to be able to have temples all over this world to go to and serve in. These temples bring great joy and happiness to all. Families are blessed, strengthened, and can eternally be bonded. I am so grateful for my own family and that we ARE eternal because of that one day in May 13 years ago when we (Dean and Edie) kneeled across the alter and made promises to each other and the Lord and got sealed together as husband and wife for time AND all eternity! As we strive to live right during our time on earth, we will be able to live with our families again in the next life and also be able to live with our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ again!
Bentonville Gold Rush Fun Run
This was Connor's first official race, and he had a really great time. He was actually one of the top 15 people to finish! Maybe the next time he can run the 5 K! I think it is in his blood, and Grandpa D would agree!

We love our family and our so thankful for all the blessings and great things that this springtime and our Heavenly Father have offered us!
