Wedding Anniversary Weekend

With kind friends to watch our boys, we kicked off our 11th anniversary a day early to travel 3 1/2 hours to the Oklahoma City Temple. Going there we were blasted almost the whole way by a heavy rainstorm making its way through the area. We got there safe and sound and were able to enjoy serving in the house of the Lord, and feel the true peace that serving in the temple can bring into our lives.

We feel so blessed we were able to, not just be married, but be sealed to each other 11 years ago in the Mesa, AZ temple, and that as we keep our covenants and live righteously, we will be together forever, throughout this life and on through the eternities.

Our actual "day" during the afternoon, was spent spending time as a whole family at Connor's school spring carnival. The boys had a fun time playing on the inflatables, getting their faces painted and playing little carnival games to earn toy prizes.

The evening/night hours were then used appropriately where we got a babysitter for the boys and we went out to eat just the two of us. We ate at a nice Mexican restaurant called Abuelos. The decor they have and how it is designed, really makes you think that you are eating in a Mexican square. The atmosphere is really nice and the food is good too! It made for a perfect night out spending time together.

We could not be happier with how our lives/marriage

has gone. Like all couples we have had our fair share of

ups and downs. We are not perfect, and things change,

on a daily basis, but the thing that has stayed constant,

is our faith and practice of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

We know that if we keep following these very principles in our marriage and home, our love as husband and wife will continue to grow and our whole family will benefit.

Mother's Day Weekend Activities

Edie was honored over three days with Mother's Day activities and treats.

Friday afternoon was spent in Connor's 1st grade classroom at "Mother's Day Tea". We, even the children, were able to dress up in nice attire to make this event even more special. All the mom's waited outside the classroom to be escorted in by their precious child.

We were then treated to a few songs that the

students sang. It was fun to see and hear!

The moms were then presented with gifts

that were made.

Then to top it all off, we ate a delicious array of cookies, brownies, crackers, cheese, and punch

Thank you Connor for a wonderful afternoon. I love you and are glad to be your mom!

On Saturday I was treated to witness Connor's last soccer game of the season. He did a great job and it was a fun to sit on the sidelines and watch my son play! We did usual Saturday things and then went out to dinner at the Olive Garden to celebrate the holiday, and also celebrate our 1 year anniversary of us living in NW Arkansas. It is amazing how time flies by. We have had a great year, and hope to have many more in this beautiful area!

On Sunday we went to church as always and got to hear

the wonderful lessons of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and also hear precious

talks on the divine roles of women hood and mother hood!

Later in the day, Dean cooked dinner on our brand

new grill. Dean likes to tease that it was me(Edie)

who suggested that we should get this, and not save

it for a Father's Day gift. But to answer his teasing back,

it was stated that, this was the only way that I could

have dinner made for me. Dean grills, not cooks :)

It was a great dinner, and all my boys did good!

I am so grateful and blessed to be a mom. I know that this is a divine calling set up by our Heavenly Father, to assist his spirit children in this earthly life. To teach them who they are spiritually and help them live their life in a way so they can come back and live with him again. I am excited to add another precious spirit to our family in a few months time. The "Three Musketeers" will add more adventure and happiness into our eternal family.

A Motherhood Tribute

Generations of Motherhood

The cycle continues with memories warm and dear,

With a mother holding her little one near

As the young woman ages, her mother stays close by,

Teaching, that her dreams are never too high.

Showing her places, never before seen,

Cheering her on like a coach to his team.

Their mothers before will guide and give their say,

Since they are they are the ones that have led the way,

Their love and support are greatly needed,

To help nurture a mind that has been properly seeded.

The cycle continues with memories warm and dear,

She's now the mother with her little ones near.

She will teach like her mother before,

Helping her children know that they can soar.

Showing them all the beauty of the earth,

Lifting and encouraging, since their birth.

The mothers that started off so long ago,

Still have opportunities to reap and sow.

Their love and care will always be needed

To help nurture minds that have been properly seeded.

The cycle continues year after year,

With mothers holding their little ones near.
