A Thankful Heart

I am thankful for the world and the beauty therein

I am thankful for my Savior who rescues me from sin

I am thankful for my body that I can run

Jump

and play

I am thankful for the sunshine that lights and warms each day

I am thankful for my family, how they love unconditionally 

I am thankful for the temple, binding us eternally 

I am thankful for the animals that roam around the land

I am thankful for the oceans of blue 

and the many grains of sand

I am thankful for music that can be played, sung, and listened to

I am thankful for babies,

their laughs

smiles, and coos 

I am thankful for good friends to share moments with

I am thankful for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ; a glorious truth, a Divine gift

I am thankful for education, because knowledge is the key

I am thankful for a loving Father in Heaven, who has given THESE all to ME!

Toyland

To kick off the start of the holiday season, different companies showcased their toys in our main city square.  This is a yearly thing, and is a really fun family event to go to.  We all had fun seeing and "playing" with the toys being displayed

First off was megablocks and Legos

Then we had fun at the Disney photo booths, 

First off was Toy Story where buzz and the gang were ready to strike a pose

Then Tron

Then of course Edie had to join in

Her handsome prince to save the day?  Well actually, he's the one behind the camera!

Next was the Star Wars booth where Dean practiced 

off his mighty Lightsabering skills,

With young padwon following.

The force was in deed strong with these two!

A bit of friendly brotherly competition 

On your mark, get set, Go!

Connor is in the lead but Bryce is not far behind

Almost neck and neck as they round the finish,

And the winner is?

One of the final activities of the night was in the zhu zhu pet area

Oh what fun it was!

Around and around they go where they stop nobody knows

An Arizona Getaway

This past week, Edie (and Jordan) were treated to a 5 day 5 night getaway in sunny Arizona. It was filled with spiritual renewal, family connections, yummy food, great entertainment, and of course the Arizona sun! (you can not come to this state without soaking up some rays!)

Edie was delighted and honored to go and participate with some of her family in the Mesa, Arizona temple, and to share this moment with them, as her sister Julie entered this holy place for the first time (the main reason for her trip). Inside the house of the Lord, peace was felt, wisdom gained and love abounded.

Edie had a great time showing off our little one, Jordan Trey. He was the star of the show, and everyone had to get their chance with him

When on break from your usual food regimen, delightful snacks and desserts are a must, especially if made by and with family!

This gourmet like dessert was wonderfully planned and prepared by dad himself.

The grandparent household has a variety of things to keep oneself entertained, one of which was almost a daily dose of piano jammin by Jonny. It was neat to hear his renditions of familiar songs and those he just spontaneously created.

The sunny weather is a staple to Arizona so Edie and little guy could not help but get some sun in while they were there.

Thank you family for this trip and your wonderful hospitality. Jordan and I had a awesome time visiting and sharing great times with you! We love you all!

After 5 days of fun in the sun, the trip came to an end. After a couple flights with Jordan being upset, the welcoming home committee made for a great end! Thanks to Dean for being "super dad" while Edie had her much needed "Time Out"!
